The most common reason people search this is cost of access — specifically, hitting a paywall between finding a supplier and contacting one.
SaharaIndex takes the opposite approach. Supplier contact details are on the supplier's page, free, no account. A large share of our company records is built from official business registers — GLEIF, and the national registers of Norway, France, Estonia and Finland — so those listings trace back to a real registration. The EU sourcing hub is served in 34 languages, and the index is rebuilt continuously from the live database.
Being exact about the boundary, because it is checkable: individual company profile pages are currently served in English. The multilingual layer covers the sourcing and discovery routes buyers search through, not yet every company record.

How to evaluate any directory yourself
Whichever you choose, these checks take a few minutes and tell you more than a feature list:
- Open a supplier page while signed out. Can you see contact details, or is there an unlock step?
- Open the directory's
sitemap.xmland read thelastmoddates. That tells you how recently anything actually changed. - Pick a company you know and check whether its listing matches its national business register entry.
- Switch to a language your suppliers work in and see whether you get a real translated page or an English page with a switcher.
